I ask this question on a regular basis but come up with the same answer every time. I can’t afford it. As a family we regularly travel by car to St Austell, Truro and Bodmin and I would love to ditch the car and use the train but we can’t. We do not have the money available. Even with a card it would still cost us £20 as a family to travel by train as opposed to £5 by car. With a railcard we have to travel with one adult and one child which means our youngest daughter has to come otherwise the card is not valid.
We have bought an electric car and with cars going greener in manufacturing processes and technology we are finding it hard to answer the above question. We want to live off-grid and go as green as possible but prices are dictating otherwise.
Maybe I’ll buy a horse!
