A Mother Hen’s Belly in a Box (But Without the Pecking!)
The Mother Hen’s Belly 2.0 (and less feathery!)
The EcoGlow Safety 600 Chick Brooder is the efficient and safe way to keeping newly hatched poultry, game and waterfowl warm. Suitable for up to 20 chicks. Sealed to the stringent IPX7 electrical safety standard and operates at 12v for electrical safety, mains adaptor included.
Let’s be honest, if my chicks could write a review for the EcoGlow 600, it’d be filled with chirps of joy and a few enthusiastic poops of approval. This thing is the closest they’ll get to snuggling under Mum Hen’s fluffy belly without the risk of getting pecked.
Pros:
- Warmth like a hug: These chicks are toasty! The EcoGlow radiates a gentle heat that makes them nestle right up like a pile of Peeps on a marshmallow. No more chilly chickies!
- Energy-efficient and safe: My electric bill didn’t cluck in protest. Plus, no fire hazard worries like with those old-school heat lamps. This mum (or dad) ain’t risking a coop inferno.
- Adjustable height for growing chicks: As my little fluffballs sprout into feathery teenagers, I can raise the EcoGlow like a Fowey School student’s car insurance premium. No awkward growth spurts here!
- Easy to clean: A quick wipe-down, and it’s good as new. Unlike a real mum hen, this one doesn’t leave feathers and poop souvenirs everywhere.
Cons:
- Chicks might get TOO comfy: Seriously, I’ve had to gently nudge them to explore their brooder. It’s like they’ve found chick nirvana under this thing.
- Slightly pricey: But hey, peace of mind is worth it, right? Plus, think of all the money you’ll save on energy bills and therapy for traumatised chicks.
Overall:
The EcoGlow 600 is the brooding equivalent of a weighted blanket for chicks – soothing, safe, and oh-so-cozy. If you’re a nervous chicken dad (or mum) like me, this is a must-have. Your chicks will thank you with happy chirps and healthy growth spurts!
Bonus Tip: Throw in a soft chick blanket for extra snuggles. It’s like a spa day for your feathered babies. You’re welcome.
