I want to send out a challenge to work with the small things. To focus on the one and to believe God has sent you the one.
There is a challenge in working alone with little support and little understanding of the work we do. It is costly. But value what you do. Value your volunteers.
The challenge is understanding what success is. I know we look out and see other organisations with huge staffing and a massive calendar of events and a huge list of young people and wonder why we don’t.
But that is not success. Not in Jesus’ Kingdom. Success is responding to the call. Success is growing as a disciple of Jesus. Success is getting to heaven and hearing the words of Jesus. It has nothing to do with numbers or how many you lead to Christ. It has nothing to do with your staff numbers.
If God gives you one person to work with, rejoice and disciple that one. It can be a daily meeting. The time you can commit to the one will be amazing. Your willingness to serve the one will speak volumes in the heavenly realms. I would hope that they would speak volumes in the earthly realms…
Hey it is hard. But be encouraged. You are not trying to please man but do the things God is calling you to. My tag line is, “Watching paint dry and snails race”. The race we run is the most important part of your life. Take your time, enjoy the view and walk that race with the one.
