Our first crop is being planted. Year 8 and 9 female students got their hands dirty and planted up our first crops.
Swift Potatoes
Swift potatoes are best known for their ability to produce the earliest crop of all potatoes. They make excellent new potatoes for boiling and salads and are a good all round cooking variety for everything except mash. Often overlooked is their good pest and disease resistance.

Biztro shallots are heavy cropping. Perfect for cooking, using raw in salads or can be pickled. Sweet in flavour.
Golden Gourmet Shallots
Golden Gourmet Shallots produce good heavy crops that are full of flavour. This variety keeps well if stored correctly for months. Perfect for growing in the kitchen garden this shallot is best planted in February. Easy to grow this variety of shallot is ideal for the gardening beginner.
Yellow Moon Shallots
This golden-skinned shallot gives a heavy crop of high quality, healthy bulbs whether planted in spring or autumn. Flavour and texture are both excellent. This variety is really special and give great results when planted in the spring.
Shallots
Sweeter and milder than onions, shallots have twice the amount of vitamin C and are also rich in vitamins A, B and E. They are invaluable in sauces, dressings, and salads.
