Working in partnership with Fowey River Academy, our farm is more than just a place to grow food. It’s a vibrant learning environment where young people, particularly those facing challenges, can thrive. We are developing hands-on experiences in sustainable farming, animal care, and environmental stewardship, fostering essential life skills, personal development, and a deep connection to nature. We empower young people to overcome barriers, build self-esteem, and discover their full potential. Our farm serves as a bridge between the school, the church, and the wider community, creating a space where everyone feels welcome, valued, and inspired to contribute to a more sustainable and compassionate world.
Digging Ponds
We aim to dig ponds at the farm to create a thriving ecosystem and enhance the educational experience for our young people. Ponds will provide a habitat for diverse wildlife, supporting biodiversity and ecological balance. They’ll offer opportunities to learn about aquatic life, water cycles, and natural filtration systems. Additionally, the ponds will serve as a peaceful and reflective space, promoting mental well-being and connection to nature. They’ll also be a practical resource for irrigation and potentially even small-scale aquaculture, further demonstrating sustainable practices.
Beneficiaries
Our beneficiaries are young people in Par, St Blazey, Lostwithiel and Fowey particularly those facing poverty, deprivation, and limited opportunities. Challenges include low self-esteem, educational barriers, and a lack of positive outlets. Our farm provides hands-on learning, mentorship, and a supportive community, fostering personal growth, resilience, and a sense of belonging. It offers a safe space to develop skills, connect with nature, and build brighter futures.
