Let us pray.
Lord God, Father of all mercies, we come before you this morning to thank you for your unending goodness. We ask for your help, that you would give us now a true awareness of your mercy, so that our hearts may be filled with thankfulness.
As our hearts overflow, may we show forth your praise, not only with the words on our lips, but in the reality of our lives. We offer ourselves again to your service, and pray that this time of worship would honour and glorify you. Amen.
Heavenly Father, we come before You, acknowledging that Your riches are very great indeed – far beyond anything we can imagine. We pray for people across our nation and around the world. Open their eyes, we pray, to the vastness of Your love, Your grace, Your wisdom, and Your provision. Help them to see that true wealth is found in You, and that You are a God who cares deeply for every aspect of their lives. May they begin to discover the incredible treasures that are available to them through a relationship with You. Amen.
Prayer for Wellspring Church
Thank you for the life in this church; thank you that they are a growing church, and we praise you for each person you have added to their number. We lift up the situation with the village hall. Lord, we pray for your spiritual protection over the space where they meet to worship you. We declare that you are sovereign, and we ask that your light would drive out all darkness. May your presence so fill that hall that no other spirit can find a foothold. We pray that the truth of Christ would be a shield around them, and we ask for wisdom and discernment for their church leaders as they navigate this.
We also pray for their relationship with the local Church in Wales. Lord, we ask you to break down any walls of tension or misunderstanding. Fill both congregations with your grace and a spirit of humility. Help us to see each other as partners in your great commission and to love one another as you have first loved us.
Finally, we pray for their young people. We ask your blessing and protection on their teenagers who have now left for college and university. Keep them strong in their faith, guard their hearts and minds, and connect them with thriving Christian fellowship where they are. Show us how to fill the gap they have left. Please raise up the next generation and give them a fresh vision for their work with children and young people. Amen
Prayer for People Suffering from Social Isolation
Lord, we bring before You all people who are experiencing social isolation. In a world that often feels so connected, many feel profoundly alone and unseen. We pray that Your presence would fill the void in their hearts. Comfort them, dear God, and surround them with Your loving embrace. Inspire others to reach out with kindness and genuine friendship. Lead them to safe and supportive communities where they can belong, be valued, and flourish. Show them, Father, that in You, they are never truly alone, for Your riches include the richness of true companionship and community. Amen.
Prayer for People Without Jobs
Father, we pray for people who are searching for employment and are feeling discouraged, anxious, or uncertain about their future. The path to work can be challenging. Open doors of opportunity for them, we ask. Guide them to roles where they can use their gifts, talents, and passions to contribute meaningfully to society. Provide for their needs and give them patience and perseverance in their search. Help them to trust that You have a plan for their lives and that Your riches include provision, purpose, and the dignity of meaningful work. Amen.
Prayer for People Unsure of Their Future and to Discover Christ
Lord of all creation, we pray for people who feel lost, confused, or uncertain about their future path. Many are grappling with big decisions about education, careers, and their place in the world. We ask that You would bring clarity and direction. Most importantly, we pray that they would come to know You, Jesus Christ, as their Lord and Saviour. Reveal Yourself to them in powerful and personal ways. Help them to understand that the greatest of all Your riches is the gift of salvation and eternal life through Your Son. As they come to faith, enable them to discover Your plan for their lives, to find peace in Your presence, and to experience the abundant life that You offer. May they commit their ways to You, knowing that You hold their future in Your hands, and that Your riches are truly boundless. Amen.
Prayer for people who are ill
Heavenly Father, we come before you today to lift up all those who are unwell. We ask that they would feel your comforting presence and know your healing touch. Lord, from the glorious riches of your grace, pour out your blessings upon them. Grant them the strength they need for this day and lead them to a place of full restoration and health.
Heavenly Father, we want to particularly lift up Barbara to you, especially concerning the lump on her breast and her upcoming operation. We ask for your healing touch upon her, that the operation will be successful, and that she will experience complete recovery. Grant her peace and courage during this time. We also pray for Dave, her husband, that you would strengthen him as he supports Barbara. Give them both unwavering faith and hope, knowing that you are with them. Amen.
Prayer for Fathers
On this Father’s Day weekend, we thank you for the precious gift of fathers. We thank you for their role in our lives, in our families, and in our communities.
We pray for every father today. Grant them the courage and wisdom to be strong and godly examples to their entire family. Fill their hearts with a love that is patient and kind, and a spirit that is generous and giving, reflecting your own character. Give them the strength to lead with humility, to be a servant to their loved ones, and to stand as an example of integrity and faith to all who know them.
Lord, we also lift up to you today those families where fathers are no longer around. For those navigating a path of grief, loss, or difficult absence, we pray for your overwhelming comfort and peace. Surround these families with your love, and place supportive friends, mentors, and loving role models in their lives to guide and encourage them.
We hold before you particularly today two girls at Fowey River Academy who are living without their father. Be their ultimate protector, their provider, and their ever-present source of strength. On this day especially, let them feel secure and cherished, and know that they are deeply seen and loved by you, their Heavenly Father. Amen.
Blessing
And now, may we all go forth with open hearts, ready to receive the boundless riches of our Heavenly Father, for they are very great indeed. May His goodness pursue us, His peace guard our minds, His wisdom guide our steps, and His overwhelming love define our days. May we live in the full and glorious inheritance He has prepared for all His children. Go in peace and joy. Amen.
