Morning Prayer
Dear Lord,
We thank you for this new day and for the gift of family. Bless this time together today as we enjoy each other’s company and create special memories. May our hearts be filled with laughter and joy as we walk and talk and simply “be” together.
Guide us as we prepare the garden for the arrival of our ducks. Help us to create a safe and welcoming space for them to thrive.
Lord, we lift up our government leaders. Grant them wisdom and compassion as they make decisions that affect our nation. We pray for increased investment in schools, the NHS, and social security, ensuring that all people have access to quality education, healthcare, and support.
Inspire our leaders to initiate a new program of affordable housing, addressing the needs of those struggling to find a place to call home. Give them the courage to implement fair taxation policies, ensuring that those with greater wealth contribute their share to the well-being of society.
We pray for Cornwall, that it may find a balance between its thriving tourism industry and its unique identity as a place of history, community, and natural beauty. Guide those in authority to implement measures that protect the interests of local residents, including exploring options like taxing second home owners.
As Anna and I continue to seek land, open doors and guide our steps. Lead us to the place where we can build our off-grid homestead and create a welcoming community.
We pray for our church family gathering at Anchor this morning. May they encounter your presence in a powerful way, hear your voice, and be filled with your love.
In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
