In your garden you can spray pesticide or you can attract good bugs. These good bugs are the friend against the enemy, the pests that are destroying your garden plants. However, they don’t only live on aphids and green fly, they also need other food.
So in order to attract these insects you need to plant beneficial plants. Plants that will attract our insects. I love flowers and planting some of these plants amongst all your existing plants will be beneficial but also make the garden look pretty.
Ladybirds are my personal favourite. The larvae eat more than the adults. Fennel, Coriander, Tansy, Dandelion.
Wasps are not our favourite bug but maybe you should make friends with them. They can be helpful in eating crop-destroying bugs such as grubs, caterpillars and weevils. They are an all-natural pesticide! And finally, wasps actually help pollinate plants!
Hoverflies look like little bees and a lot of people swat them away. Don’t they are brilliant. They like tiny flowers and enjoy snacking on a variety of flowers. Include Lavender, Thyme, Honeysuckle, amongst others.
Lacewing larvae feed on aphids, mites and other small insects. For Lacewing’s include Dill, Coriander, Caraway, Tansy, Dandelion, Fennel, Angelica.
