Ever feel like there’s a constant battle going on inside you? Like you know what’s right, but doing the wrong thing just feels…easier? Galatians 5:16 gets real about this struggle. It says, “Live by the Spirit and you will not carry out the desires of the flesh.” Boom. Straight up.
It’s not saying the struggle disappears, but it is saying there’s a way to win. Living by the Spirit means connecting with God, letting His presence fill you up. It’s about prayer, reading your Bible, and hanging out with other people who are trying to do the same thing. The more you focus on God’s Spirit, the less power those “desires of the flesh” have over you. It’s like training a muscle – the more you exercise your faith, the stronger it gets.
It’s a process, not a switch flip. There will be times you mess up. But don’t get discouraged! Get back up, dust yourself off, and reconnect with God. He’s there to help you, every step of the way.
Let’s pray: God, I know I struggle with doing the right thing. Help me to live by your Spirit. Fill me up with your presence and give me the strength to resist the desires that pull me away from you. Help me to grow stronger in my faith each day. Amen.
