Ever feel like you’re just not good enough? Like everyone else has it together, but you’re constantly falling short? Maybe you struggle with school, friendships, or just feeling confident in yourself. I think we’ve all been there. It’s easy to get discouraged when we focus on our weaknesses.
But there’s an amazing verse in the Bible that completely flips that idea on its head: 2 Corinthians 12:9. It says, “My grace is enough for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Let that sink in for a moment. God’s power isn’t shown off best through our strengths, but through our weaknesses.
Think about it. When we’re strong and capable, we tend to rely on ourselves. But when we’re weak, we have no choice but to rely on God. And that’s when His power can truly shine through!
The verse goes on to say, “So then, I will boast most gladly about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may reside in me.” Boast about our weaknesses? That sounds crazy! But it’s not about being proud of our flaws. It’s about recognising that even in our struggles, God is working. It’s about trusting that His grace is enough to cover our shortcomings.
So, next time you’re feeling inadequate, remember this verse. Don’t try to hide your weaknesses. Instead, bring them to God. Let Him work through them. Let His power be made perfect in you.
Prayer
Jesus, thank you that your grace is enough for us. Help us to see our weaknesses not as roadblocks, but as opportunities for your power to work in our lives. Help us to trust in you, even when we feel like we’re not good enough. We give you our weaknesses, and we ask you to fill us with your strength. Amen.
