Imagine the scene: John the Baptist, a powerful voice in the wilderness, sees Jesus walking towards him. And he doesn’t hold back. He shouts, “Look, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”
That’s huge! John recognised Jesus for who He truly was: the one who came to fix everything that’s broken. The Lamb of God. That image of a lamb being sacrificed was something people understood. It meant forgiveness, a fresh start, a clean slate.
And that’s what Jesus offers us today. He takes away the stuff that weighs us down, the mistakes we’ve made, the things we regret. He doesn’t just sweep them under the rug; He takes them away completely.
Walking with Jesus isn’t about being perfect. It’s about knowing that when we mess up, we have a Saviour who loves us enough to take our burdens. He wants to walk with us, guide us, and help us become the best versions of ourselves.
So, when you feel overwhelmed, remember John’s words: “Look, the Lamb of God!” He’s here for you.
Prayer
Dear Jesus, thank you for being the Lamb of God, who takes away our sins. Thank you for your forgiveness and your love. Help us to keep our eyes on you, to trust in you, and to walk with you every day. Give us the strength to follow you and to know you more. Amen.
