All generous giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or the slightest hint of change. James 1:17
Ever feel like you’re running on empty? Like you have nothing to give? James 1:17 reminds us that every good thing, every perfect gift, comes from God. He’s the Father of lights, and He never changes. Think about that for a second. The source of all the good stuff isn’t some fleeting trend or temporary feeling – it’s God, and He’s constant.
So, if you’re feeling like you don’t have much to offer, remember that God is the ultimate giver. He’s pouring good things into your life all the time. And as you walk with Jesus, you start to reflect His light and His generosity. It’s not about what you can conjure up, but about what God is doing in you. Let Him fill you up, and then let that goodness overflow onto others. That’s where the real magic happens.
Let’s pray: God, thank you for being the source of all good things. Thank you for your constant love and generosity. Help us to recognise the gifts you’ve given us and to use them to bless others. Help us to reflect your light and love to the world around us. Amen.
