Well, this was an unexpected delight! Back in November, Kieran and I had a little experiment with a tray of salad tomatoes. Our grand plan was to cut the tomatoes in half, pop them in the top and bottom of the empty tray, cover them with compost, and patiently wait for germination.
To be honest, it looked like a complete flop! The tomato halves seemed to have just rotted away, and after a while, we sadly tipped the lot into one of our raised beds, figuring it was a failed mission.
Fast forward a few weeks, and imagine our surprise when we spotted some tiny seedlings emerging in that very bed! It turns out some of those little seeds had a different idea about our “failed” experiment and decided to sprout after all! π
Have a peek at the pictures β we now have a lovely little collection of tomato plants coming along nicely. It just goes to show, nature finds a way!

I can’t wait to tell Kieran about our unexpected success and, even better, to enjoy a delicious, homegrown salad with him later in the summer. Fingers crossed for a juicy harvest! π #Tomatoes #Gardening #Surprise #Homegrown #RaisedBeds #GardeningAdventures
