Are you a really busy person? Let’s take a peek into a moment that reveals something crucial about how Jesus handled His crazy diary!
Verse 35: “Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.”
Jesus is up and the first thing he is doing is not checking emails or scrolling through social media. No, He’s praying. Jesus’ morning routine has prayer at the core of it.
Verse 36-37: “Simon and his companions went to look for him, and when they found him, they exclaimed: ‘Everyone is looking for you!’ Jesus replied, ‘Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.'”
Jesus is starting to let the disciples in on his mission. It involves going to different places.
Verse 38-39: “So he travelled throughout Galilee, preaching in their synagogues and driving out demons.”
Jesus isn’t tethered to a single location. He’s on the move, spreading the good news and bringing freedom wherever He goes. It’s a road trip with a purpose.
Jesus began His day with solitude and prayer. It’s a reminder for us to carve out quiet moments, away from the noise, to connect with God. Jesus knew His mission. He wasn’t swayed by popularity or demands. That is why he started the day with prayer. He was asking his dad, “What shall I do today?” It’s a challenge for us to stay focused on our purpose, especially when life gets crazy. And if we start the day in prayer, we can be open to God redirecting our plans for His greater purpose. And Like Jesus, we’re on a mission too. It might not involve physically travelling, but our daily interactions and choices impact those around us.
So, find time for quiet moments, stay focused on your purpose, be flexible, and live with a mission.
