In this passage, Paul offers practical advice to the Galatians, and by extension, to us, on how to live out our faith in tangible ways.
Verse 1-2: Restoring the Fallen
“Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted.”
- Key Takeaway: We are called to help others who have stumbled in their faith, not condemn them. But we also need to be mindful of our own weaknesses and temptations.
Verse 3-5: Bearing Each Other’s Burdens
“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfil the law of Christ. If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves.”
- Key Takeaway: We are not meant to go through life alone. We should help others carry their burdens, but also recognise our own limitations and avoid pride.
Verse 6: Supporting Those Who Teach
“Nevertheless, the one who receives instruction in the word should share all good things with their instructor.”
- Key Takeaway: Those who teach the word of God should be supported by those they teach.
Verse 7-8: Reaping What We Sow
“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.”
- Key Takeaway: Our actions have consequences. We will reap what we sow, whether good or bad.
Verse 9-10: Doing Good to All
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
- Key Takeaway: We should not tire of doing good, as we will reap the rewards in time. We should do good to everyone, especially to fellow Christians.

- How can we apply the principle of “reaping what we sow” to our daily lives?
- Who are some people we can do good to today?
- How can we make sure we don’t get tired of doing good?
