Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.

Romans 8 v 26-28 The Message

John Calvin held a doctrine of calling. He believed every person had a vocational call to serve God in the work place. He turns our normal understanding on it’s head. We are all called to discipleship – witnessing to Jesus in our every day lives. Calvin added the calling to work to be salt and light.

John Piper says, “God’s sovereign purposes govern the simplest occupation. He attends to everyone’s work.”

I hope that Calvin’s doctrine will help you to understand your call as you travel to work.
