At midnight, a storm blew across the poppy field,
Poppy, with ears perked, her fear concealed.
Storm, whimpered low, a trembling sight,
As thunder rumbled, lightning flashed, a spectral light.
Midnight, the cat, with eyes aglow, a silhouette,
Watched from the window.
Her tail twitched slow,
As the storm raged on, outside.
Poppy, nuzzled close to Storm,
Whispering softly, “Fear will not transform.”
Midnight, with a gentle purr,
Jumped down a blur.
Together they huddled, a furry band,
Three hearts beating strong.
The storm raged on, but they found their peace,
In friendship’s warmth, a sweet release.
