Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4 v 2-3
Patience is not optional for the Christian. It is rooted in Christian truth. Patience recognises that full satisfaction cannot be achieved in this life and sanctification will be incomplete in this life. However, we call God Lord and recognises that he is King over-all, including time. In His time, all things will come to fruition. So for us patience must recognise that we work within His timings and His will.
Patience is a gift and gives us confidence that God is in control. We can relax, God is here.
May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer. Amen
