Don’t muzzle an ox while it is threshing.
Deuteronomy 25 v 4
I’m not just sounding off because I’m irritated. This is all written in the scriptural law. Moses wrote, “Don’t muzzle an ox to keep it from eating the grain when it’s threshing.” Do you think Moses’ primary concern was the care of farm animals? Don’t you think his concern extends to us? Of course. Farmers plough and thresh expecting something when the crop comes in. So if we have planted spiritual seed among you, is it out of line to expect a meal or two from you? Others demand plenty from you in these ways. Don’t we who have never demanded deserve even more?
1 Corinthians 9 v 8-12 The Message
If anyone out there doubts the need to pay our spiritual leaders, then read this passage. It is an encouragement to give a meal or two for those that plant spiritual seed. Personally I love pizza, with chilli and no meat!
May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer. Amen
