Beautiful God

Surprisingly, God is not described as beautiful in the Bible. However, his beauty is conveyed in numerous ways, highlighting his glory, majesty, and holiness.

Here are a few examples where God’s beauty is evident:

Psalm 27:4: “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.” This expresses a longing to experience God’s beauty in a place of worship.
Psalm 29:2: “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness.” This links God’s holiness with splendour, suggesting a radiant beauty.
Isaiah 6:1-3: Isaiah’s vision of the Lord, high and lifted up, with seraphim proclaiming “Holy, holy, holy,” evokes a sense of overwhelming beauty and majesty.
