Turning a £5 bike into a dream bike

August 25, 2020 by rich

The dismantled bike with components

A while ago I bought a couple of bikes for £10. The one I wanted was with a bit of work ready to ride (replaced an inner tube and oiled and greased the bike). This one was given to Mia and she has been using it over the summer. In the winter this one will […]

A couple of junk bikes ready for restoration

I have recently collected two ‘junk’ bikes, although what is junk to someone is treasure to another. Over the last 9 months I have been learning about electrifying bicycles. I added a 1000 watt motor to bike and built a sidecar for it, then promptly sold it. Then I had an old Raleigh and I […]

Morning, we walked to one of our favourite places yesterday. I was captivated by the light reflecting back from the river, under the trees. It was cool in the shade and the river was freezing. I made myself get in because I knew I would regret it if I didn’t, it was so worth it, […]

Cheers two bottles clinking

Service

Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he’s thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness. Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good. Romans 12:21 MSG Be not overcome of evil […]

The Cross

Hope 1

The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ – eternal and glorious plans they are! – will have you put together and on your feet for good. 1 Peter 5:10 (MSG) In conclusion, the apostle prays to God for them, as the […]
