Do you think I speak this strongly in order to manipulate crowds? Or curry favour with God? Or get popular applause? If my goal was popularity, I wouldn’t bother being Christ’s slave. Know this—I am most emphatic here, friends—this great Message I delivered to you is not mere human optimism. I didn’t receive it through the traditions, and I wasn’t taught it in some school. I got it straight from God, received the Message directly from Jesus Christ.
Galatians 1:10 MSG
We all crave acceptance. (Maybe not cats!) Seeking validation from our fellow travellers on this life journey will fail. Popular opinion changes like the breeze and when we trust that opinion we are on very slippery ground. When we focus on our self we will fail and we will have created an idol – ourselves.
Jesus is our model. He did not make a name for himself, he made a name for his Father. How awesome is that? When we allow God to define us, we are seeking the opinion of God, the one who loves us and wants the best for us and his opinion counts. He will be the one we meet when this journey ends. Me, I love his opinion of me and I am looking forward to meeting him.
When does an ordinary life
Become extraordinary
An mundane day
Become revolutionary
A moment in time
Change history?
When God enters in
Forgives sin
Allows us to
Begin again
When we repeat
Those words of Mary
‘May it be to me
As you say’ Amen
